Music Monday- This Song Is So Relatable...

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately. 

Today I'm only going to share one song. It's a new one from Three Days Grace called, "The Mountain." I really love the lyrics for this one and I find it so relatable. If this song doesn't accurately describe dealing with depression every day, then I don't know what does.

Music Monday- Music To Workout To!

This past week or so I have been getting into the groove of going to the gym regularly. So the two songs I'm sharing today are songs that I love to listen to at the gym to help hype me up!!

1. Ghost- Square Hammer

I love this band and they have a lot of great songs to help keep me going at the gym!

2. Beartooth- Aggressive 

I think I got more of a workout when I saw them live on Shiprocked and moved around a lot during that, but still even just listening to their music gives me energy!

Music Monday- I'm Listening To These On Repeat, Probably As You Are Reading This

These two songs have been playing nonstop on my music playlist lately. Guys, I am the WORST about playing songs to death. I listen to music ALL THE TIME and I burn myself out so fast. I'm always looking for something new to play on repeat and lately I've been LOVING listening to these two songs over and over. 

1. Slaves- I'd Rather See Your Star Explode

Hey, this is the singer from Emarosa and Dance Gavin Dance! I like both of those bands so of course I would like this band also. I love this song and the sound of it is fantastic. Patience Is The Virtue is also a really good one! 

2. Hayley Kiyoko- Curious 

I LOVE this song and her voice!! It's so catchy and to me it sounds a bit 90s. Which is a big plus for this 90s girl. She has a lot of great songs. If you like this one then be sure to check out her song from 2015, Girls Like Girls.

Since it has been soooooo long since I've done a Music Monday post I am going to share FIVE hard rock songs with you that have been stuck on repeat on my playlist. 

1. Dorothy- Flawless

I find the lyrics extremely relatable and I just love Dorothy! 

2. A Perfect Circle- The Doomed

I love APC and The Doomed is such a good song. Also, check out their other new one called Disillusioned. It's great also!

3. Black Label Society- Room of Nightmares

I am loving the new BLS album and just for the record they kick ass live. 

4. Nothing More- Fadein/Fadeout

I can't deal with these amazing lyrics. The lyrics just get to me. 

5. Jonathan Davis- What It Is

Um, why didn't I know that he has a solo album coming out? I really like this song! It's Jonathan Davis so of course it's amazing and I can't wait for the rest of his album. I hope Korn isn't done or anything though.

Also, FYI there are new Breaking Benjamin and a new Thirty Seconds To Mars song. Those are great also so check those out too!

Music Monday- The Weeknd (Explicit Language)

This week I am sharing a few songs by The Weeknd. I am thrilled that The Weeknd has a new album (Starboy) that just came out. The last album (Beauty Behind the Madness) is one of my all time favorite albums. So hooray for new music! I could probably listen to him sing anything, his voice is that sexy, but here's just a couple of my favorites! Also, stop reading now if you want to avoid explicit lyrics. 

1. Often 

This may be my favorite song by The Weeknd. WAIT! No, I take that back. Please don't make me pick just one. This one is DEFINITELY one of the top ten songs that are all tied for number one. I just love the sound of this song and those lyrics... oh my. I'll just leave this here and make of it what you will. :D

2. False Alarm

This one is a little bit different to me because the sound is less sexy and more upbeat. The lyrics are fantastic and deep, but the sound is fun and I like that mix. I'm just thinking The Weeknd can do no wrong.

Music Monday-Fletcher

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately. 

This week I am sharing a couple of songs by Fletcher. I started listening to her back in June when her debut single "War Paint" came out. Unfortunately, I don't think she really got enough buzz! I'm very surprised since she has a fantastic voice and catchy songs with great lyrics. Since her album "Finding Fletcher" just came out (at the end of September I think) I just had to share a couple of her songs. 

1. War Paint 

I really love the sound of this song. The drums, the little bit of banjo, it all works for me and feels fresh. I also like the lyrics which are fun, but strong at the same time.

I really love how catchy this one is, especially the chorus. The lyrics for this one really resonate with me too. I love the whole, "don't play it safe, go after what you want now" kind of thing. Life is short!

Music Monday- HALLOWEEN PLAYLIST!

So this week I'm doing something a little different, I'm sharing a playlist! Now that it is October, and Halloween will be here before we know it, I am in the mood for some spooky music! I made this playlist on Spotify a year or two ago and I really love listening to it this time of year. Most of the songs are kid friendly (I think only one or two only have explicit lyrics) and I originally made the playlist for my kids to listen to.

This week is Andrew McMahon week! I have a pick each from Something Corporate, Jack's Mannequin, and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness! So I feel pretty stupid because I just found out that all of these bands I love are Andrew McMahon. I know, I know... how could I not realize? I'm an idiot (Not really, I just listen to music I like and rarely pay attention to details about the artists.) and gosh this guy is SO talented! Once I found out though I could totally hear it, but all three bands do a have a little bit different sound so I'm going to pretend that it's reasonable that I had no idea. So here is my favorite song from each!

Music Monday-Musicals

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately. 

This week is all about musicals! I love musicals and of course listening to the soundtracks! There are still plenty of musicals I need to see and listen to the music, but here are songs from two of my favorite musicals. 

1. Light My Candle- RENT 

Gosh I love this musical!! Whether the soundtrack is the original broadway soundtrack or the movie soundtrack I just love it! I was lucky enough to see the broadway tour that came to my city once and a few of the original cast members were in it. It was even more amazing in person. This is my favorite song from the musical.  Also, lame couple alert- my husband and I love to sing this one together and he sings all of Roger's parts and I sing all of Mimi's. LOL!

 2. Night Surgeon- Repo! The Genetic Opera 

I don't think a lot of people are as familiar with this musical, but it's one of my favorites! I love how dark it is and the movie is amazing. The cast is phenomenal (Ahem, ANTHONY STEWART HEAD acting and singing!!) and the music is beyond awesome. I had such a hard time picking one song to put on here.

Music Monday- New Rock Tunes!

This week for me is all about new rock music! I have been listening to rock a lot lately, well I do LOVE rock, and here's a couple of new songs from bands I like!! 

1. Rotting In Vain By: Korn 

I have loved Korn ever since I saw the music video for "Freak on a Leash" and heard their music for the first time. However, their last couple of albums have been let downs. While this is no "Freak on a Leash" I am really enjoying this one and their other new single, "Insane."

2. Show Me A Leader By: Alter Bridge 

Alter Bridge is a band that I really haven't listened to enough, but I love their music. I really like this new song and their other new one "My Champion."

New music!!! I LIVE for new music. Since I listen to music ALL DAY practically I burn myself out on songs quickly and I need new stuff. So I anxiously await new music to be released so I can find something new to obsess over. Here's two new songs that I have been listening to and LOVING! 

1. Make Me Move By: Britney Spears 

I HATED this song at first. Like, really hated it. Then it grew on me. I don't even know why I like it. I couldn't tell you. I just like the sound of it for whatever reason. Also, I love how she sings the "oh yeah" part. LOL!

I LOVE The Pretty Reckless and I was so excited to see they have a new song out. I love the lyrics and the whole make a deal with the devil for rock 'n' roll thing! I almost saw them in concert once, but they UNFORTUNATELY had to cancel. :'(

Music Monday- Rock Out With Me! #Kickass!

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately. 

This Monday I wanted to share some songs that I have been rocking out to! I love rock music and sometimes you just need to turn the radio up when a good rock song comes on and be a badass...while cleaning the house. Is that just me? HAHA. Anyway, rock tunes can be energizing and both of these tunes definitely fit the bill for that. If you're looking to work/work out/clean or just stay awake add these to your playlist. 

1. Aggressive By: Beartooth

I haven't listened to a lot of Beartooth yet, but I love this one! As a person who can be pretty aggressive at times. I was initially drawn to this one because of the title. I love the lyrics too though!

2. Raise Hell By: Dorothy 

I love a good kickass female rocker. I don't know why, but I never heard of Dorothy until a few months or so ago. As a matter of fact I found out about Dorothy from Lzzy Hale's IG account. So thanks to one kickass female rocker for recommending another! This is my favorite Dorothy song.

Music Monday- Dance Back To The 90s!!

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately. 

This Monday I decided to share one of my Spotify Playlists instead of my usual one or two songs. Why? Let me be real here...laziness. It's Monday already as I write this. It's been crazy at my house this summer.  I've taken a short break from my blog since last Wednesday. I plan on coming back full force after the kids go back to school, but until then I will just do what I can. This week there will be no TTT, but I will hopefully do a WoW and a review or two if I can find time.

This Monday I have picked two incredibly catchy tunes that I have been enjoying lately. Maybe you will recognize these and have been enjoying them too! 

1. Don't Mind By: Kent Jones

Don't Mind is SO catchy. This song has been stuck in my head nonstop lately. There's just something really fun about it to me.

Music Monday- Listening With My Kids In The Car (No, It's Not The Wiggles.)

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately. 

This past week or so I have been listening to some Linkin Park and Savage Garden tunes with my kids while we are in the car. I like both of these groups a lot and I love seeing my sons (my autistic daughter doesn't care at all about music lol) enjoying some of the same music that I enjoy. My sons (they just turned 9) actually have some pretty eclectic music taste and I love it!

1. Crawling By: Linkin Park

This is my favorite song by Linkin Park so I had to pick this one to share. "Crawling" came out when I was a teen going through difficult times and it really described some of the feelings I had back then. I can't help but still connect to this one, plus it's great to ROCK OUT to!

2. Crash and Burn By: Savage Garden

This is not one of their most popular songs, but it is definitely my favorite song by them. Yes, even over "I knew I Loved You" and "Truly, Madly, Deeply." The lyrics for "Crash and Burn" just really get to me. I mean don't we all want to know that we aren't alone and that someone will be there for us during our worst moments?

Music Monday- NEW DEMI LOVATO SONG

So this past Friday a new Demi Lovato song was released!!! I decided to share it in case any Demi fans haven't heard it yet. Oh, and it's goooood. Really goooooood. My other song...well let's see if anyone else besides me remembers it. 

1. Body Say By: Demi Lovato 

YASSSSSSSSS girl! Demi has a new smokin' hot track and I'm really feeling it. I have listened to "Body Say" on repeat quite a lot. Don't judge me. It's sexy, seductive, and reminds me of how Demi has grown into such a confident woman. I have liked Demi for a long time and I love her music. I hope that a new album will be coming soon and with more sultry songs like this on it! I had to use Spotify to share this one since there isn't a video yet.

So funny story with this one. I had a friend over and we were watching old 90s/00s music videos and I said something like, "Hey, do remember this one?" I put on "Step Daddy" and she did not remember it because she had never heard it before! I asked around a bit and no one I talked to has ever heard it! I was shocked. So bonus points to you from me if you've heard this hilarious track before. If you haven't...well just listen to it!
