Music Monday- This Song Is So Relatable...

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately.

Today I'm only going to share one song. It's a new one from Three Days Grace called, "The Mountain." I really love the lyrics for this one and I find it so relatable. If this song doesn't accurately describe dealing with depression every day, then I don't know what does.

Three Days Grace- The Mountain

[Hook]
Every day I'm just survivin'
Keep climbin' the mountain
Even when I feel like dyin'
Keep climbin' the mountain

[Verse 1]
Another night I'm barely holdin' on
One step away from being dead and gone
Am I alive to die another day?
Is this life that I've been livin'
All that's meant for me?

[Hook]
Every day I'm just survivin'
Keep climbin' the mountain
Even when I feel like dyin'
Keep climbin' the mountain

[Chorus]
Every time I think I'm over it
I wake up in the bottom of it all again
I'm still survivin', keep climbin'
Keep climbin' the mountain

[Verse 2]
The higher I go, the harder I fall
So I don't look down, I don't look back at all
And when I wish it all would turn to black
I try to see the light and push the darkness back

[Hook]
Every day I'm just survivin'
Keep climbin' the mountain
Even when I feel like dyin'
Keep climbin' the mountain

[Chorus]
Every time I think I'm over it
I wake up in the bottom of it all again
I'm still survivin', I keep climbin'
Keep climbin' the mountain

[Bridge]
So If I'm numb, already too far gone
And If I feel a pulsin', I can carry on
When I'm lost and want to fade away
I tell myself to live to die another day, yeah

[Hook]
Every day I'm just survivin'
Keep climbin' the mountain
Even when I feel like dyin'
Keep climbin' the mountain

[Chorus]
Every time I think I'm over it
I wake up in the bottom of it all again

I'm alive and keep climbin'
Keep climbin' the mountain, the mountain

That's it for this Music Monday! Do you like Three Days Grace and what do you think of this song? They also have another new song out called, "I Am An Outsider." I like it as well and I can't wait for the rest of their album to come out.

Music Monday- Music To Workout To!

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs you have been enjoying lately.

This past week or so I have been getting into the groove of going to the gym regularly. So the two songs I'm sharing today are songs that I love to listen to at the gym to help hype me up!!

1. Ghost- Square Hammer

I love this band and they have a lot of great songs to help keep me going at the gym!

2. Beartooth- Aggressive

I think I got more of a workout when I saw them live on Shiprocked and moved around a lot during that, but still even just listening to their music gives me energy!

That's it for this Music Monday! Do you like either of these bands as well? Do you have any suggestions on good music to listen to while working out?

Music Monday- I'm Listening To These On Repeat, Probably As You Are Reading This

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs you have been enjoying lately.

These two songs have been playing nonstop on my music playlist lately. Guys, I am the WORST about playing songs to death. I listen to music ALL THE TIME and I burn myself out so fast. I'm always looking for something new to play on repeat and lately I've been LOVING listening to these two songs over and over.

1. Slaves- I'd Rather See Your Star Explode

Hey, this is the singer from Emarosa and Dance Gavin Dance! I like both of those bands so of course I would like this band also. I love this song and the sound of it is fantastic. Patience Is The Virtue is also a really good one!

2. Hayley Kiyoko- Curious

I LOVE this song and her voice!! It's so catchy and to me it sounds a bit 90s. Which is a big plus for this 90s girl. She has a lot of great songs. If you like this one then be sure to check out her song from 2015, Girls Like Girls.

That's it for this Music Monday! Have you heard either of these songs or artists before? What's currently playing on your playlist lately?

Music Monday- Rock Hard Edition

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately.

Since it has been soooooo long since I've done a Music Monday post I am going to share FIVE hard rock songs with you that have been stuck on repeat on my playlist.

1. Dorothy- Flawless

I find the lyrics extremely relatable and I just love Dorothy!

2. A Perfect Circle- The Doomed

I love APC and The Doomed is such a good song. Also, check out their other new one called Disillusioned. It's great also!

3. Black Label Society- Room of Nightmares

I am loving the new BLS album and just for the record they kick ass live.

4. Nothing More- Fadein/Fadeout

He said, "Son
I have watched you fade in
You will watch me fade out
I have watched you fade in
You will watch me fade out
When the grip leaves my hand
I know you won't let me down

Go and find your way
Leave me in your wake
Always push through the pain
And don't run away from change
Never settle, make your mark
Hold your head up, follow your heart
Follow your heart

I can't deal with these amazing lyrics. The lyrics just get to me.

5. Jonathan Davis- What It Is

Um, why didn't I know that he has a solo album coming out? I really like this song! It's Jonathan Davis so of course it's amazing and I can't wait for the rest of his album. I hope Korn isn't done or anything though.

Also, FYI there are new Breaking Benjamin and a new Thirty Seconds To Mars song. Those are great also so check those out too!

That's it for this Music Monday! Do you like any of these songs? What tunes have been on repeat on your playlist lately?

Angel Erin's Latest Obsessions- Books, TV, Music, & Etc.

I decided to try out a new feature to do on my blog every now and then all about my latest obsessions! Just whatever things I'm obsessing over at the moment. Whether it be books, TV shows, movies, music, foods, drinks, and anything else!

Books-

I try not to get too stuck on one book genre, but the past year or so I've really been obsessing over mystery/thrillers. I keep having to force myself to read other genres so I don't get burnt out. That being said, feel free to let me know any mystery/thriller recs you may have!

Music-

DED!! I've been all about Ded since their debut album released in 2017. The music just rocks. It's aggressive, the lyrics are very relatable, and also I got to see them live while on the Shiprocked cruise last week so I can tell you they are even better live! These guys are great, they have so much energy, and the whole album kicks ass.

TV-

I've only watched the first episode of La Mante so far, but it already has me hooked! I don't watch TV much anymore but I can't wait till I have time to binge watch the rest of the episodes. It's about a female serial killer who wants to help the police catch a copycat killer. One thing though, she'll only give information to her son who is now with the police.

Drinks and Food-

These Cella's K Cups taste just like the real thing! But I can drink it and there's not anywhere near as many calories. I think there's only 2 calories and no carbs or any of that. Yey! Also, I've been obsessed with this Echinacea tea with all of the yucky stuff going around. Right now I am a little sick, but my daughter has the flu so I'm drinking a lot of this! Also, I'm in love with Smartfood white cheddar popcorn. It's definitely my go to snack right now while I'm reading.

Health-

After losing 97 lbs I'm trying to do better about my overall health. Hopefully I will join a gym soon to tone up and that will be my next obsession. In the meantime, I'm trying out a few other health things. Once I got off Keto (how I lost so much weight) I have still been watching how many carbs I eat, but I realized I was not getting enough protein. So I've been drinking protein shakes everyday and I am really liking the ones from MyProtein. They are high protein, low carb, and all that jazz. I also recently bought some collagen peptides to add into the shakes or into my morning coffee for healthy skin, hair, nails, joints, cartilage, and bones. I haven't been doing taking it that long, but I am already starting to see some results. Here is the one I bought off of Amazon, Collagen Peptides.

My Dog Ariel-

This dog right here is an amazing dog. Ariel has always been the best dog, but here the past year or so she has been my stability and antidepressant. I know that sounds silly and I won't get too much into it, but it's true. She's absolutely amazing and I don't know what I'd do without her. She's something special and I have been obsessed with taking her picture recently.

That's it for all of my obsessions lately!! I probably won't do another Angel Erin's Latest Obsessions post for a bit, but if you all are interested then I will continue them. :o)

Don't forget to let me know what all of YOUR latest obsessions are!!

Where Did AngelErin Go? I Have Some UPDATES Guys!

Well as some of you may have noticed I have been absent from my blog for SO LONG! Things have been super crazy and busy in my life for about four months now. I am currently going through a divorce (good riddance to that scumbag) and trying to figure out a job situation. I have been a SAHM for almost 11 years due to my daughter's autism. So all of this has been a very stressful, but hopefully something will work out though!

Besides the stress, I have been extremely happy the past few months. I've never been this happy and I'm really enjoying it that's for sure. Also, I have a new and wonderful man in my life. I'll leave that at that for now. Let's see what else has been going on... I went on a mini beach vacay in Corpus Christi, my daughter turned 13 in April, my sons just turned 10 on the 6th of July, I've been working on a poetry book to self-pub one day, I lost 83 lbs, and I got off the keto diet.

Also, I've just been trying to keep up with my kiddos and all of the other normal day to day things in life on top of everything else.  All of this combined with a book slump and I haven't been reading much until recently. If you follow me on Instagram ( angelerinsbookobsession ) then you may have seen me around a bit on there. Here's some recent pictures that I posted!

I honestly think that Bookstagram is my favorite bookish thing, besides reading, so I have tried to keep up with that some. I've been on Twitter just a tad here and there and very recently I'm trying to get back into all the bookish things again. However, I'm sure it won't be as much as before.

When I have had a little bit of lazy time (especially while I was in the book slump) I did watch some TV shows and listen to some great music. Here are my favorites lately!

Halsey is LIFE!!! I have NOT stopped listening to this album since it came out and I love every song! Also, right now my Twinnies and I are obsessed with that Despacito song. It's been on repeat a lot as well.

I used to watch Degrassi back in the day and I couldn't help trying out the new Netflix series for it. It's definitely a guilty pleasure for me. I binged the first three seasons and then when season four came out I watched it all in one day. Oops.

I started watching Reign a while back, but then I got distracted by other things and now this is what I'm currently watching. I love it so far and I'm almost done with season two.

I know I've watched a few movies, but I can't even tell you which ones I've seen recently. LOL! I seriously have not been able to keep up with my life lately, but I'm thrilled to be back on the blogosphere. Even if I did miss my 2nd Blogoversary the other day on July 10th. Haha.

Here's a few other pictures from recently that I wanted to share. I especially love the one with all of my kiddos. It's so hard to get all of us in a picture and it turn out well! Oh, and you can add me on Snapchat ( Erinld2005 ) if you want and I'll add you back.

Soooooo that's what I have been up to, that's all the craziness in my life that has kept me from blogging. I'm sure I don't owe anyone an explanation, but I miss everyone and I wanted you all to know why I disappeared.

HOW IS EVERYBODY??? Tell me in the comments EVERYTHING about how you have been and what you are reading/watching/listening to! What all did I miss???

Sorry for such a long post. :P

Music Monday- The Weeknd (Explicit Language)

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately.

This week I am sharing a few songs by The Weeknd. I am thrilled that The Weeknd has a new album (Starboy) that just came out. The last album (Beauty Behind the Madness) is one of my all time favorite albums. So hooray for new music! I could probably listen to him sing anything, his voice is that sexy, but here's just a couple of my favorites! Also, stop reading now if you want to avoid explicit lyrics.

1. Often

This may be my favorite song by The Weeknd. WAIT! No, I take that back. Please don't make me pick just one. This one is DEFINITELY one of the top ten songs that are all tied for number one. I just love the sound of this song and those lyrics... oh my. I'll just leave this here and make of it what you will. :D

Lyrics:

She asked me if I do this every day, I said often
Asked how many times she rode the wave, not so often
Bitches down to do it either way, often
Baby I can make that pussy rain, often
Often, often, girl I do this often

2. False Alarm

This one is a little bit different to me because the sound is less sexy and more upbeat. The lyrics are fantastic and deep, but the sound is fun and I like that mix. I'm just thinking The Weeknd can do no wrong.

Lyrics:

She loves everybody
Can't you tell by the signs?
She loves everybody
She gets off all the time
It's a dark philosophy
And it haunts her constantly
It's a false alarm to me
She's a false alarm

That's it for this Music Monday! Anyone else LOVE The Weeknd and/or find his voice so sexy? What music have you been listening to lately? Also, I hope everyone that celebrates had a great Thanksgiving!

Music Monday-Fletcher

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately.

This week I am sharing a couple of songs by Fletcher. I started listening to her back in June when her debut single "War Paint" came out. Unfortunately, I don't think she really got enough buzz! I'm very surprised since she has a fantastic voice and catchy songs with great lyrics. Since her album "Finding Fletcher" just came out (at the end of September I think) I just had to share a couple of her songs.

1. War Paint

I really love the sound of this song. The drums, the little bit of banjo, it all works for me and feels fresh. I also like the lyrics which are fun, but strong at the same time.

Lyrics:

Bring the big guns out, shoot now
I'll make the drums beat harder for you
Red on the ground, bleed out
I'll rub the colors on my face to prove
I'll sing it like
Woah-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
Watch me put my war paint on, my war paint on
Woah-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
Watch me put my war paint on, my war paint on

2. Live Young Die Free

I really love how catchy this one is, especially the chorus. The lyrics for this one really resonate with me too. I love the whole, "don't play it safe, go after what you want now" kind of thing. Life is short!

Lyrics:

I'm so sick and tired of being the one who plays it safe
Ready to start it up and make it my show
You can't be with me if you move slow
I want it now; is it so far
I don't wanna have to wait
I like the rush; need to feel it on my skin
If it's good, then do it again, yeah

That's it for this Music Monday! If you like these two songs, then I definitely recommend the whole album. It's only six songs, but they are all great. What do you think of Fletcher and these songs? What have you been listening to lately?

Music Monday- HALLOWEEN PLAYLIST!

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately.

So this week I'm doing something a little different, I'm sharing a playlist! Now that it is October, and Halloween will be here before we know it, I am in the mood for some spooky music! I made this playlist on Spotify a year or two ago and I really love listening to it this time of year. Most of the songs are kid friendly (I think only one or two only have explicit lyrics) and I originally made the playlist for my kids to listen to.

That's it for this Music Monday! What do you think of these songs? Do you love/hate spooky tunes? Can you think of any songs that would be great to add to this playlist? As always, I'd also love to know what you've been listening to! Happy Monday and I hope everyone has a great week. :D

Music Monday-Andrew McMahon

Music Monday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at Always Me. The idea behind it is to share one or two songs that you have been enjoying lately.

This week is Andrew McMahon week! I have a pick each from Something Corporate, Jack's Mannequin, and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness! So I feel pretty stupid because I just found out that all of these bands I love are Andrew McMahon. I know, I know... how could I not realize? I'm an idiot (Not really, I just listen to music I like and rarely pay attention to details about the artists.) and gosh this guy is SO talented! Once I found out though I could totally hear it, but all three bands do a have a little bit different sound so I'm going to pretend that it's reasonable that I had no idea. So here is my favorite song from each!

1. Konstantine By: Something Corporate

Lyrics:

This is to a girl who got into my head
With all these pretty things she did
Hey Baby, You know that you keep me up in bed
It's to a girl who got into my head
With all the fucked up things I did
Hey maybe baby, you could keep me up in bed
My Konstantine

2. Bruised By: Jack's Mannequin

Lyrics:

Hours pass, and she still counts the minutes
That I am not there, I swear I didn't mean
For it to feel like this
Like every inch of me is bruised, bruised

3. Fire Escape By: Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness

Lyrics:

You're number one
You're the reason I'm still
Up at dawn
Just to see your face
We'll be going strong
With the vampires, baby
We belong, we belong awake

Swinging from the fire escape

That's it for this Music Monday! What do you think of these songs? Did you know they are all Andrew McMahon? Has that ever happen to you with bands and you just didn't realize? What have you been listening to lately? Have a great Monday and rest of the week!

Playlist Book Tag

I haven't done a tag in AGES! I'm so excited to be doing this tag. I've wanted to do it ever since I saw it over at The Left-Handed Book Lover! I love books AND music so this is perfect. The tag was originally started by Little Red Reader on YouTube.

How to play: Put your music on shuffle and pick a book for each song that comes on. I'm assuming you can pick as many songs as you want, but I just did five.

*Click on covers to view on Goodreads.*

1. Californication By: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Lyrics:

Space may be the final frontier
But it's made in a Hollywood basement
Cobain can you hear the spheres
Singing songs off station to station
And Alderaan's not far away
It's Californication

Even though I haven't read this book yet, the "Cobain" part in the song made me think of this one.

2. Landslide By: Fleetwood Mac

Lyrics:

I took my love, took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
'Till the landslide brought me down

This song makes me think of life changes and growing older which instantly made me think of grumpy, old Ove.

3. Forever Young By Alphaville

Lyrics:

Forever young,
I want to be forever young.
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, and ever

Lestat wants to live forever, but what about Louis?? This one couldn't go together any more perfectly in my opinion!

4. I'll Make Love To You By: Boyz To Men

Lyrics:

I'll make love to you
Like you want me to
And I'll hold you tight
Baby all through the night
I'll make love to you
When you want me to
And I will not let go
Till you tell me to

I always crack up at how the men in this book can go all night (if you get my drift, and I think you do) and I don't care if they are vampires. It still doesn't make sense to me and it's funny, even though I LOVE the series. So a song all about making love and making love all night made me think of this one.

5. Chandelier By: Sia

Lyrics:

1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink

Throw 'em back, till I lose count

Here's looking at you, Jack. My favorite fictional alcoholic.

So that's it for the Playlist Book Tag! What do you think of the books I picked for the songs? Would you choose other books instead, if so which ones?! Also, as always I tag anyone who wants to do the tag. Also, I don't know why this is in a white box, but I can't figure out how to fix it. So OH WELL. Gah.
