Top Ten Tuesday- Top Ten Books I STILL Need To Read

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at The Broke and the Bookish. This week's topic is a back to school freebie, but I really didn't want to do that one. So I'm doing last week's topic that I missed, Top Ten Books STILL On My TBR From Before I Started Blogging. 

I like this topic because I am always behind on my TBR. I have so many books that I own that I haven't read yet. It's very sad really and with so many new books coming out too it's difficult to get ahead! It was hard to narrow it down for this list, but here are the top ten books I STILL need to read that I've had FOREVER.

1. Rose Madder By: Stephen King 

Rose Madder is one of the Stephen King books I still need to read. I have a few I haven't read yet that I need to get to soon!

2. Duma Key By: Stephen King

Duma Key is another Stephen King one I need to read for sure that's been on my TBR for ages. There's a few, but I only picked two for this list. 

3. Les Miserables By: Victor Hugo

Les Miserables has been on my list for so LONG! One day I'll read it. :D 

4. War and Peace By: Leo Tolstoy 

War and Peace has also been on my list for ages. Once I tried to start it, but I only got a few pages in and I said NOPE because I wasn't in the mood. Like the SK books, there are a lot of classics that I could have added to this list, but I picked two. 

5. Plague World By: Dana Fredsti 

I LOVE the first two books in this series, but I've had this one on my TBR since it came out and haven't read it yet. Shame on me. :( 

6. Side Jobs By: Jim Butcher 

Side Jobs is another one that's been on my TBR for a while. I'm holding out on this one till I get desperate in between the other Dresden books I guess. 

7. Personal Demon By: Kelley Armstrong 

Personal Demon has been on my TBR for SO LONG. I binged all of the previous books in this series and when I got to this on I just burnt out. I may have to reread the whole series now because it's been so long. :P 

8. Witchling By: Yasmine Galenorn 

Witchling is a book that for whatever reason I picked up on a whim (I picked up the first two books actually) and I have had it forever and never started it. 

9. Memoirs of a Geisha By: Arthur Golden 

Memoirs of a Geisha is another one that I've had for so long, but never started. I haven't watched the movie yet either. 

10. The God Project By: John Saul 

I've had The God Project on my TBR for so long that I feel really ashamed for this one LOL. It's also one of the first books I owned that I added on Goodreads when I joined... IN 2011!!! OH MY.

I decided to do this topic because I'm always finding new books I want to read. Whether I find them on Goodreads, other blogs, in magazines, or wherever I am always adding books to my to read list. Top Ten Tuesday-Top Ten Books On My Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at The Broke and the Bookish. The topic for this week is Top Ten Books On My Spring TBR.

Well I think this is a great topic!! My TBR pile is extremely huge. It's a problem for real. Usually I don't plan out what I'm going to read ahead of time. When I try I always end up reading some books that are not on the list. And not reading all of the ones that were on my list. Oopsie! However for this TTT I did attempt to make a list and we shall see if I stick to it. Or close enough anyways.

So here are some of the books on my side table right now that I need to read-

Sadly that is not even close to all of them. Somehow I managed to narrow it down for this TTT . First are the ones I want to read for my Insane Genre Challenge-

As you can tell, like everyone else I'm sure, my TBR is out of control. I'm hoping I can get through all of these and then some. We'll see hahaha! What books are on your TBR this Spring?

Top 10 Classics I Need to Read...Eventually

I think we all have some classic novels that for whatever reason we have never read. Perhaps some of them are avoided because they look too intimidating. While some are passed over because they sound... well DULL. For me I have not read some for both of those reasons. Also, I missed out on reading some that most people read in their high school days. I went to a public high school for about a year and a half. However, in the middle of my sophomore year I switched to homeschool and I finished getting my diploma that way. So I really feel like I missed out on some classics that I would have read in public high school. Over the years I have read quite a few classics I missed out on, but here are my top 10 that I still need to just read already!

I've read Pride & Prejudice (hated it, sorry), but I've never read anything else by Jane Austen. I really would like to give her another chance. I cringe when I think about how much I disliked Pride & Prejudice, but maybe one of her other books would be more to my taste.

I'm afraid I've missed the Charles Dickens train. Thus far I have only read A Christmas Carol by Dickens and even though I loved it, I've yet to read anything else by him. I also really want to read Oliver Twist. I'm really starting to feel like I'm missing out on something major here.

Here's another author that has multiple books I need to read. I'm just a little hesitant to read Russian literature. I really have been avoiding these for some time. One of these days I will see what the fuss is all about.

I don't even think Catch-22 sounds interesting, but I'll read it and see if I change my tune. I'll  give it a shot! I've heard this is one of those hate it or love it novels.

Here's another piece of Russian Literature I have yet to read. I've actually owned this novel for quite some time, and it isn't very big, but I've been really reluctant to start it. Perhaps I will in 2016. You never know.

I know The Catcher in the Rye has been on the Banned Books lists a lot, so surely I should read it? I am not even sure I know what it's about. I liked banned books though! :P

No, I haven't seen the movie either. I know the movie is one (if not the number one) of my grandmother's favorite movies. I really should break down and read it one day. I'm just not sure a romance during the Civil War screams my name. Hmm...

I'll admit this got bumped up on my to-read list after I saw Hugh Jackman singing in the movie. "Look down, look down..." The movie was so damn good. I hope the book is just as good. 

Honorable Mentions: 

I swear I have a fear of Russian literature. Here's another in that genre that I have avoided. I can't even think of any Russian novels that I HAVE read. :/ Crime and Punishment sounds like a really dark novel though. Which is definitely up my alley.

I know I have started reading Moby Dick, but I was in Junior High School and I don't know if I ever finished it. I remember nothing about it so I'm really not sure. Either way, I need to give this one another go. 

So there you have my list of classics that I need to read...eventually. I didn't realize until making this list that I have been avoiding Russian literature like the plague. That definitely needs to change. Well before we know it 2016 will be upon us and maybe I will read some of these next year. Maybe I'll even have a vote and let you all decide which one I HAVE to read in 2016. That could be interesting...
