Cover Re-reveal for Twice Upon A Time (Black Angel Book Series #1) By: Hope Irving

About The Book:

Title: Twice Upon A Time
Author: Hope Irving
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance
Publication Date: October 31, 2015

Summary From Goodreads:

Once upon a time, there was the wandering soul of Morgann, an 8th century Irish calligrapher-monk longing to be reunited with his soul mate. Deirdre was his forbidden love, a witch with whom he wrote a coveted book.

Under her spell, the souls of the star-crossed lovers travel from bodies to bodies until they find each other. Eventually. That became his quest: unearth her new body and trigger her memory, for she is clueless about whom she once was. Unfortunately their story didn't get a chance to become a fairy tale yet it still turned out as a famous urban legend referred as as The Black Angel Book.

Twice upon a time, not so long ago, there was me, rational and devastated Rose. I needed to get a grip, said my French mum after my year of numbness due to a painful break-up that led me to cut my wrist daily, to feel something, anything.

So she sent me off to the free-spirited village of Provincetown, Massachusetts. to spend the summer with my American relatives. And just like that, I wasn't myself any longer. Because someone pulled me out of the darkness and bewitched me, somehow.

I couldn't wait to jump his bones...but why was he holding back? He couldn't wait to welcome me into his world...but was I ready to question my convictions and acknowledge that my self-inflicted cuts were now healing in record time?

How could I have imagined he was longing for his own unorthodox fairytale to come true? Frantically.

Obsidian By: Jennifer L. Armentrout Review

WOW. WOW. WOW.

I LOVED Obsidian way more than I had expected to. I kept hearing so much about this author, but honestly the book summaries didn't sound THAT great to me. Then I saw on someone else's blog (sorry I don't remember which one) that this e-book was free to download from Amazon. I decided that since it was free I would download it and read it on the Kindle app on my iPad. I'm so damn glad that I did. I even read a lot of the last half of the book on my tiny cell phone screen in the car on the way to and back from a wedding. I was that hooked.

To start off the first thing that struck me about Obsidian is that it reminds me of Twilight, but with aliens and better writing. There is something in Jennifer L. Aremntrout's writing that is just magical. I loved the flow of the novel and the romance was so well done and fiery. Usually with the romance parts in novels I can't wait for the main characters to kiss or realize that they are in love, but with this one I just enjoyed the whole ride. The sexy, sarcastic, witty, and HOT ride. Which brings me to...

Daemon.

He is hot, hot, hot!! I can't resist a book with a bad boy jerk that really has a heart of gold and is the super protective type. Hello, new book boyfriend. Shhhh.... don't tell my husband. Who is probably reading this now and thinking that I am nutty. Lol!

Another thing that I really enjoyed about Obsidian was all of Katy's book blogger and general book nerdiness parts. I think my reasons for liking that are pretty obvious. ;) Also, I can't forget about Dee (Daemon's sister and Katy's friend), I loved her as well. I want a super sweet bestie like that.

Overall I think that I have found a new favorite book. I literally don't have anything bad to say about it. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and try some more of Jennifer L. Armentrout's books.

I would recommend this to fans of Twilight, anyone who likes paranormal romance, and for anyone looking for a new ship to root for. Katy + Daemon = <3

Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance

Summary From Goodreads-

Once upon a time there was the wandering soul of Morgann, an 8th century Irish calligraphy-monk longing to be reunited with his soul mate. Deirdre was his forbidden love, a witch with whom he wrote a coveted book.

My Review-

What really drew me into Twice Upon a Time is the uniqueness of the story. When I first read the plot summary I was intrigued because it just sounded DIFFERENT. I love that Morgann was a monk, that alone was something so new for me. I don't think that I have ever read anything where one of the main characters is a monk. Morgann was definitely my favorite character.

I just love the whole soulmates, star-crossed lovers story. I am a big sucker for that!!  I have to say there were times Dierdre got on my nerves, but that was mostly early on and she had some great character development.

Overall everything about Twice Upon a Time is new and fresh, however I do have to say there were a few slow parts in the middle of the book for me. I had to struggle and push through these few parts, but it was worth it when I got to the end.

I recommend Twice Upon a Time for fans of unique paranormal romances and for anyone who loves stories about star-crossed lovers.

Birthday Book Haul Part 1

BOOK HAUL!!!

I love books and I love shopping, so of course I love BOOK SHOPPING!! Thank you to my friends and family for all the wonderful birthday gifts I received. You all know me so well. I could not wait to get to the book store and shop! It still amazes me how fast I can spend money in the bookstore. Isn't that all of us bookworms though?

 Book Haul Part 1 :

I'm so ready to get started on The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare. I read the first one right after it came out, but I don't remember anything. I just remember that it was very good. Now that I've finally finished all of The Mortal Instruments series I need this to fill that hole in my life. Also, this box set is gorgeous! Has anyone read all of these yet? What did you think of them?

Reawakened!!! I've been hearing many good things about this one by Colleen Houck. I haven't read The Tiger Saga by her yet, but I may have to if Reawakened is really good. Has anyone read The Tiger Saga? I've heard of it, but I haven't heard anything about if it's a must read or not. I also got at Half Price Books for $1 each, Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen and the first two in the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter. I've read the first five in this series before, but I didn't have the first two books. I'm glad I found these, and for cheap, because I need to go back and start over on this series. I know I have forgotten some things that happened early on. I just absolutely LOVE this series. I really recommend it to all paranormal romance fans. I also recommend Gena Showalter's Alice in Zombieland YA series. Gena's writing is always superb.

Recently I've gotten a little bit into watching anime and reading mangas. I was put off at first by having to read the mangas from right to left, but now I'm used to it. I was also put off at first by anime because I thought it was all silly. Well let me be the first to say it, I was wrong. I've found some of them have really deep and dark story lines. Which I enjoy a lot. I am pleasantly surprised! I've watched all of the anime for these, so I'm excited to start reading the books.  Especially Ouran High School Host Club since there is only one season of the show. :/ I NEED Tamaki and Haruhi to get together. Lol! By the way, does anyone else love how satirical Ouran is? Greatness.

Annnnnnnnd this is a shirt my parents bought for me. I just thought I would share because it's awesome!! I love it and of course I would always rather be reading. :D :D :D

I have a few more mangas coming in the mail and a bookstore gift card left to spend. So there will definitely be a birthday book haul part 2.  Thank you again to all my friends and family for making my birthday special.

So has anyone else had a book haul (big or small!) lately? Comment below what books you've bought! I'm curious to know what books others are buying. Plus I could always use need ideas for what to buy next!

Happy reading everyone!
