November 9 By: Colleen Hoover Mini Review That Turned Into A List

After I finished reading November 9 I sat down to start writing a mini review for it. I ended up making a list instead because I had way too many feels and not enough coherent thoughts after reading the book. :P

So here is my list of 10 Thoughts I Had While Reading November 9:

1. I love CoHo books. I'm so happy that I borrowed this book from the library.

2. Oo it's so good already! This Ben guy is great, he's funny. I'm totally going to binge read this whole book like I always do CoHo books.

3. This book is so HILARIOUS in some parts. The romantic comedy aspect between Ben and Fallon is written very well.

4. Hmm, I don't know about this meeting up only once a year thing. Can they just be together? 

5. Okay, what is the plot twist here. I don't understand why (BLANK to avoid spoilers) happened.

6. Dafuq?

7. My eyes hurt so bad. I should put this down and go to bed. Oh, look at that... next chapter...

8. I don't like that! WHAT JUST HAPPENED? Okay, Erin, chill. There has to be a happy ending. Right? 

9. Holy plot twist. Mind = Blown. I'm not sure how to feel about this reveal at all. 

10. Wow. November 9 is such an amazing book. I have so many feels. #I'mNotCryingYou'reCrying

Okay, sorry guys this is all I could do for my "mini review." I loved November 9 and if you are a Colleen Hoover fan you will love it too! If you haven't read one of her novels yet, I highly recommend any of her books. Her writing is phenomenal and addictive.

#CoHoStrikesAgain! It Ends With Us By: Colleen Hoover Review

Short Review Summary: 

CoHo put my heart in a blender, but I love it. 

Oh, the feels! It Ends With Us has all of the feels that I have come to expect from a Colleen Hoover novel. Except, dare I say it...this one has MORE feels! I know that sounds impossible, but it's true.

I was invested in Lily's story from page one of this book. As always with Hoover, the writing is just so darn addictive. I really love Lily's character and I have to say I think she is the best female character that CoHo has written. I haven't read ALL of her books, but I've read a decent amount and that's my opinion so far.  Even though I've rated all of her books five stars (isn't that nuts?), I've always had the tiniest issue with her female characters. I usually find them a little plain and frankly, they are doormats. So I was glad to see that Lily had some spunk and more personality.

I also really love the ending to It Ends With Us. I think the whole story is wrapped up flawlessly. Which due to the subject (at times it might be a bit graphic for some) matter, I think that would be difficult to do. Let's admit it most of Colleen's books are a cheesefest, which I love if done well, but this one has a grittier MC and a darker subject matter. To me, it proves that this author has a lot of talent and there's more to her than just her addictive writing style. 

#Flawless

Overall I think It Ends With Us is a damn near perfect book. It comes across in the pages how deeply personal this story is and some parts of it might be a bit difficult to read for some people. This is a very moving, emotional story, and it shredded my heart for sure.

I recommend It Ends With Us for anyone that loves to read emotional new adult books. For CoHo fans that haven't read it yet, STOP what you're doing and go read it IMMEDIATELY.

MINI REVIEWS!! The Birds & Other Stories By: Daphne Du Maurier & Feel Me Break By: Tara R.

Sorry, no memes this week! 

My overall rating for The Birds & Other Stories is 4 stars, but since it is a collection of stories I decided to also rate the stories individually. 

The Birds

5 Stars

I LOVED this one. I grew up watching the Alfred Hitchcock movie for The Birds, but I never knew it was a story first until a few years ago. Since then I've been meaning to read it and I finally got around to it! As much as I loved it I can't say it's better than the movie. I really enjoyed the movie and story equally.

Monte Verita

This one was a little bit meh for me. It was kind of slow and just an okay story. It wasn't bad, but not great either. It was also very long so it did drag on and on.

4.5 Stars

I originally was going to give this one 4 stars without the other half star, but after some time went by I kept thinking about it. This a story that is good while reading it, but ends up great because it stays in your mind.

This one was like Monte Verita for me. It wasn't bad, but not terrific either. I did like it better than Monte Verita, but it wasn't as long either.

How could I not like this one? The line, "Kiss Me Again, Stranger" alone is just magnificent.

The Old Man

This story started off a little blah, but then I did like the ending. Even though it was pretty odd. It was a bit out of nowhere and it reminded me of The Lottery by Shirley Jackson. Which I LOVE, so I ended up really enjoying this one.

Overall The Birds & Other Stories is a pretty great set of gothic stories. The Birds is my favorite story in the book of course, but there are other good ones too that make this worth a read. As always with collections of stories there are always a few that you just don't care for as much as others.

I recommend The Birds & Other Stories for fans of Shirley Jackson, Poe, and Daphne Du Maurier's Rebecca. This is a perfect book for fans of gothic reads.

As you all may know by now I am not really a novella reader. However the summary of Feel Me Break really stood out to me and so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed it. There is a whole lot of emotions packed into this novella! 

#EMOTIONAL

The author did let me know that this is a prequel novella (with cliffhanger) and that there will be a full length novel coming out. I am so HAPPY that there will be a full length novel because after reading this I really need it. My favorite thing about this novella is Chloe and Nick's characters. Gosh, they just had such good chemistry and I like both of them. Also, the writing is just beautiful and drew me in from page one. Which let's face it is a must for such a short read!

Overall Feel Me Break is a fantastic novella. I can't wait for the full length novel, Watch Me Rise. I need to know what happens to Chloe and Nick! I feel like it left off right as it was getting to all of the really GOOD stuff. Feel Me Break certainly left me wanting more that's for sure.

I recommend Feel Me Break for all New Adult fans. This is such a fast read and it's only $0.99 on Amazon right now! If you love New Adult books then I say why not try this one before Watch Me Rise comes out.

Top Ten Tuesday- Top Ten Books I Want To Buy RIGHT NOW!

This one sounds so dark and up my alley that it is definitely the #1 book I want to buy right now. 

2. Moody Bitches By: Julie Holland, M.D. 

I just recently came across this book and honestly, it's not really my kind of book. However, it sounds really intriguing and the title certainly caught my interest. 

3. A Court of Mist and Fury By: Sarah J. Maas

I NEED IT. Plus, I need to see what all the Twitter feuds were all about.

4. The Rose and the Dagger By: Renee Ahdieh

I NEED THIS ONE TOO.

5. Milk and Honey By: Rupi Kaur

I wasn't that interested in this one at first, but I keep seeing fantastic reviews for it. From what I've read in reviews it actually sounds pretty amazing. 

6. It Ends With Us By: Colleen Hoover

7. End of Watch By: Stephen King

While I can't believe that a SK book isn't my #1 pick here, I do really want this one!! I need to finish this trilogy and see what happens.  #7 though? Really, who am I?!

8. The Vegetarian By: Han Kang 

This sounds weird as hell. I need to read it. 

9. Angelfall (The Whole Series) By: Susan Ee

I've been meaning to read this series for AGES. It looks like something that I would 100% love.

10. The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (The Whole Series) By: Michelle Hodkin

This is another series that I've been meaning to read for so long. It also looks like something that I would really love.
