Usually my reviews are spoiler free, but due to the popularity of this final book in the Raven Cycle series I wanted to be sure and say it's SPOILER FREE.
Whew! What an ending to a fantastic book series! The Raven King is just as magical as the rest of the series has been. I just love Maggie Stiefvater's writing. It's magical in itself and I love how she doesn't give up all of the story's secrets right away. I just adore how everything slowly unravels and everything is important. I never realized until reading this series how many books have a bunch of useless garbage in them.
So everything has come full circle in this final book of The Raven Cycle and we finally get to see how it all ends. I was surprised that in this one Adam became my second favorite character. I really LOOOOOVE his story in this one! After Ronan I think his character is the deepest. Ronan is still my first favorite character and of course I love everyone else as well, but Ronan is number 1! I will say I am pleased with how ALL of the character's storylines ended, even if I had a few questions still.
I did not know how to move on after finishing The Raven King. I had a book hangover for sure. It's that good. I'll resist the temptation to say more because I definitely want to keep this spoiler free. Just know that it's the perfect ending for this story. My only MINOR complaint is that there were a few things I wanted more answers to. I especially needed more in regards to Blue's story. I suppose I can fill in those few blanks in my head though.
Overall I'm sad that I'm done with The Raven King, but it was absolutely perfect. It feels very bittersweet to be done with this series. I can't wait to try some of Stiefvater's other books and see if those are just as magical as this series was.
I recommend The Raven King (and the whole Raven Cycle series) for anyone looking for a beautifully written and magical story.
