Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at The Broke and the Bookish. The topic for this week is Top Ten Debut Authors Who Have Me Looking Forward To Their Sophomore Novel. Pretty much it's when you love an author's debut novel so much that you are just DYING to get your hands on their second novel. So here's my list!
1. Sabaa Tahir
I really loved An Ember in the Ashes and I can't wait for the sequel. A Torch Against the Night will be published sometime in 2016. I want to know what happens!
2. Nicola Yoon
One of my favorite novels this year is Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon. Everything about it was so perfect. I'm definitely anticipating anything else this author comes out with.
3. Emiko Jean
Her debut novel We'll Never Be Apart is such an awesome psychological thriller. I loved it. I really hope she writes another one similar to it.
4. Alexandra Burt
Some of you may know that I have been raving about this author's debut novel, Remember Mia (in some countries the title is Little Girl Gone), quite a bit. I absolutely LOVED this book so much. I am so anxious to get my hands on anything else she writes. As a matter of fact I didn't pay any attention and I requested Little Girl Gone on NetGalley not too long ago without even reading the summary. I just wanted something else by Alexandra Burt so bad. Boy was I disappointed when I realized it was the same book that I had already read, only the title had been changed.
5. Charlotte Huang
I read her debut novel For the Record not that long ago and if I'm not mistaken it actually still hasn't been published yet. I think the publication date is sometime in November. When I saw this week's topic for Top Ten Tuesday she was one of the first authors that I thought of. I saw on Goodreads that she has a new book called Going Geek coming out in 2016. I will be waiting for it!!
6. Michelle Falkoff
I enjoyed Michelle Falkoff's novel Playlist for the Dead a lot, mostly because of the music. I would love to see her write another novel with something similar stylistically or music related.
7. Saul Black
Okay, this one may be cheating just a little bit. Saul Black is a pseudonym used by Glen Duncan. Glen Duncan has a decent amount of fantasy/fiction books published already. However under the name Saul Black, there is only one novel. The Killing Lessons and it is a crime/thriller which is what I want to read more of by him. (I have a giveaway running right now for a copy this book here The Killing Lessons Giveaway.)
8. Laurie Elizabeth Flynn
I read her debut novel, Firsts, not that long ago as well and it's another one that isn't out quite yet. I believe the expected publication is sometime January 2016. While I only gave this novel 3.5 stars that's still above average and I did enjoy the novel. I really loved the unique and controversial subject matter of the book. I would love to see more like that from Laurie Elizabeth Flynn.
9. Sparky Sweets
I just love the Thug Notes YouTube channel and when the book came out I had to read it. I love everything about it and I want a Thug Notes 2!!
10, Samantha van Leer
I had to choose Jodi Picoult's daughter Samantha van Leer, even though technically she has two books out already. However, both of those (Between the Lines and Off the Page) are co-written with her mom Jodi Picoult. I have read a lot of Jodi Picoult's books, but I would love to see something by Samantha van Leer on her own. Since she was the one who came up for the idea for Between the Lines I really feel like she would have some new and interesting ideas.
Okay, that's it for Top Ten Tuesday! What authors have you anxiously awaiting their sophomore novel?
