Winter By: Marissa Meyer Review

I have finally done it. I  finished Winter, the last book in The Lunar Chronicles series. It took me long enough, but it was worth it. It was everything I wanted it to be and more, but now I have series ending depression. I can't believe it's over. I'm sad and I wish there was more. I may end up having to go back and read Fairest, even though I'm not usually a prequel/novella fan. I may have to at some point though, just because I'm not ready to leave this world. This book was over 800 pages and it still wasn't enough. I would even like to see more after where this book leaves off, even if it's just a short novella to see what everyone is doing.

I have to admit that at the beginning of this book I really didn't care for Winter. Or Jacin. Or anything having to do with them. I was starting to wonder if that would make me hate the book, but then luckily I started to like Winter little by little. Surprisingly, by the end of the book she became one of my favorite characters, maybe even my number one favorite character. As for all of the other characters, I loved them as usual and I am really happy about how they all ended up.

Although, for a while Kai did get on my nerves a little bit because I was wondering if he was ever going to do anything useful. Is it just me or does it seem like he was kind of blah and useless in this book until the end? Maybe that's just me.

I really enjoyed the humor in this book (especially with Cinder's foot LOL) as well. The whole novel was just magical, it's that good. The writing was superb, the plot was entertaining, all the characters that I loved from the other books were still fantastic, and the ending did not let me down. That's all I can ask from a final book in any series. There's just so much to love in this book! Like Cress + Thorne! <3

Overall Winter gave me so many feels throughout and it was just PERFECT. I recommend it to anyone who has read the other books in the series, you won't be disappointed.

The Lunar Chronicles Tag!

The Lunar Chronicles tag originated here at, The Book Addict's Guide and I found it here at, My Thoughts...Literally!.

With the release of Winter this week I thought this would be a great tag to do right now. Sadly, I do not have the book yet. I don't know when I will be able to get it and read it. I'm in money saving mode for Christmas and so I really don't have any money to set aside for books at the moment. I truly hope everyone who is reading it is enjoying it!! :D I can't wait to read (the spoiler free) reviews and see how everyone liked the book.

1. Cinder- The Cyborg
A book that is misunderstood and under appreciated.

Gerald's Game By: Stephen King

This is one of my favorites by Stephen King, but sadly it often goes unrecognized. Or worse, hated.

2. Kai- The Prince
A book about royals/royalty.

The Selection By: Kiera Cass

This series is definitely the first one that came to mind.

3. Adri- The Evil Stepsister
A book with a horrible/cringe worthy parent.

Push By: Sapphire

CRINGE.

4. Iko- The Spunky Sidekick
A book with your favorite happy go lucky character.

Ouran High School Host Club By: Bisco Hatori

Tamaki!! This character makes ME happy too.

5. Scarlet- The Rescuer
A book with a character on a mission.

Black Butler By: Yana Toboso

Ciel. I like a good revenge mission.

6. Wolf- The Fighter
A book with a brutal fight (words or fists.)

Dreams of Gods & Monsters By: Laini Taylor

All of the fighting in the last two books were pretty brutal.

7. Levana- The Villain
A book with the absolute worst villain.

The Stand By: Stephen King

Randall Flagg is one of the best villain's ever created. My second choice would be Dolores Umbridge from the Harry Potter series.

8. Thorne- The Rascal
A book with the best schmoozer.

Clockwork Prince By: Cassandra Clare

Will. He doesn't even have to try to schmooze and he succeeds.

9. Cress- The Hacker
A book about technology/science fiction.

The Time Machine By: H.G. Wells

I'm not a huge Sci-fi fan, but this story has really stuck with me. The Morlocks are creepy.

10. Erland- The Doctor
A book with an illness or revolves around medical issues.

Still Alice By: Lisa Genova

Alzheimer's is a terrible, terrible disease.

11. Winter- The Unsound Mind
A book with the craziest character you have ever read.

Gone Girl By: Gillian Flynn

If you have read it, then you know who I mean.

12. Jacin- The Soldier
A book with a military theme.

Ender's Game By: Orson Scott Card

I couldn't think of another one. I'm not really into military themed books or movies, but this one was pretty good. Also, whenever my husband gets around to reading this blog post he will be pleased that I picked his favorite novel!

Okay that is it for The Lunar Chronicles Tag, some of these were hard to chose ones for. What are some of your choices?
