I'm alive, I swear! + My Shortest Reviews EVER

I'm alive! I've been pretty absent from my blog for A WHILE and I've been absent from blog hopping for even longer. There are reasons, but I won't go into what they are. Sorry. However, I will let you know what I've been up to for the last few weeks that has continued to keep me away from blogging. 

For the most part, school is what has kept me from having time to blog. This is week three of my second semester of college and I'm taking one more class this semester than I did for the last one. Also, one of the classes is a math class (which is definitely not my thing) so send help! 

Other than school, I've been completely swamped with my kiddos, working on my WIP (Poetry book #2 coming in 2019...hopefully. In the meantime, check out Goodbye Darkness, Hello Light available in paperback and for Kindle on Amazon!), hunting for an overnight job to squeeze into my schedule, and boring normal life things. Who else has to schedule time to do laundry or read? (Please don't let it be just me. Ha!)

Okay, enough about me. I know you're here for the SHORTEST REVIEWS EVER. I never got around to writing full reviews for these, but I figured I could write at least a little something.

LOTR and D&D had a bizarre and intriguing love child. Wait, isn't D&D based off LOTR? Or the other way around?

#SweetTorture 

This series is heart wrenching and emotionally consuming. 

Also, here are two books that I DNF'd and a quick reason why.

I DNF'd this one because there was too much happening with riding horses instead of the lesbian romance. I couldn't hang in there any longer for the romance to take off. 

I wanted to love this one so much and it did start off wonderfully unique and dark. However, the book lost me when the development became non-existent.

Baby Teeth By: Zoje Stage Mini Review

Baby Teeth reminded me a bit of that old movie The Bad Seed. I love how the POV went back and forth between Suzette and Hanna. For me, it was almost like a double unreliable narrator type of thing. Which I LOVE unreliable narrators! The story is very fast-paced and the ending is phenomenal. It left me with a lot of questions still unanswered, but in a good way! The best books are the ones that you keep thinking about long after you're done reading them. I recommend Baby Teeth for sure.

The Last Time I Lied By: Riley Sager ARC Review

After reading and enjoying Final Girls by Riley Sager back in November I had to read his upcoming book The Last Time I Lied. I am so glad I got approved on Netgalley for this one. This book was EVEN BETTER. Holy shiitake mushrooms this book was so FANTASTIC. The tension is ON POINT!! It did start off just a tad slow, BUT I really think it helped to build up the tension for later.

I am not sure I liked any of the characters in this one, but wow they all sure were intriguing. I also enjoyed that the chapters went back and forth between the present and 15 years ago. The time jump was very well done. The storyline, atmosphere, and TWISTS were ON POINT as well. The Last Time I Lied defines what it means for a book to be a rollercoaster of twists and turns. You'll need a seatbelt to read this one.

Overall this is one of my new favorite books. I highly recommend it to all of my mystery/thriller lover friends out there! I guarantee you won't regret reading this one.
