I LOOOOOVED The Witch Doesn't Burn In This One! The poems in this book are feminist, moving, and very powerful. I am glad that she covered so many important topics. As a woman, I am grateful for poetry like this. Poetry that says a lot of the things that I think most of us women are thinking. Honestly, these are the kind of things that need to be said more and more. I find Amanda Lovelace's poetry inspirational and a must read for everyone. Words can't describe just how much I loved this book!

Difficult Women By: Roxane Gay Review

This is the first book by Roxane Gay that I have read and for the most part it's a pretty good set of stories. I enjoyed how the stories featured all kinds of women from different walks of life. Some of the stories are pretty emotional, which is something that I really enjoy.

However, I will say that some of the stories are a bit dull or just not to my taste.  Part of that may be that I did get a little tired of how much sex there is. I could have done with a little less of that honestly. I don't think sex has to be used in everything to make an impact.

Overall Difficult Women is a pretty good set of stories. Since this is the first I've read from this author I didn't know what to expect, but I really love her writing style. I'm glad that I read this one because some of the stories are really fantastic. I would read more by Roxane Gay in the future just for the writing alone to be honest.

I recommend Difficult Women for anyone interested in stories about women with beautiful writing.

Milk and Honey By: Rupi Kaur Review- I love finding new books through other bloggers!

I'm so glad I saw Tori's review because Milk and Honey is a new favorite book for me! This small book of poetry really packs a big punch. There is so much emotion, heartache, and hope in here. It's unbelievable. I love everything about this book. The honesty. The pain. The openness. The femininity. The healing. The hope. Wow, just wow. Milk and Honey accurately portrays what it FEELS like to be a woman. I hope Rupi Kaur comes out with another book similar to this and SOON.

I fully believe that this is a book every woman needs to read. If my autistic daughter were a typical child I would give her this book to read. I would give her this book and tell her that she is beautiful, be true to herself, support other women, and to never accept anything less than she deserves. This is something that all women need to be told anyway, but these poems really hit the mark.

This little book of poetry really moved me and I like the simplistic drawings that go along with them as well. They fit so perfectly with the poetry.

Overall Milk and Honey is a heartbreaking and beautiful book of poetry and similar in style to e.e. cummings, as far as format goes. I don't think that I can accurately describe just how much these poems resonated with me. I read this in one sitting and I already can't wait to read it again. This is a breathtaking book that I will cherish and read often.

I recommend Milk and Honey to every living, breathing female on the planet. Well maybe only for ages 12+, depends on the parent.

The Collected Poems By: Sylvia Plath Mini Review

I really enjoyed reading Sylvia Plath's poetry. Ever since I read The Bell Jar (and then googled Sylvia and learned more about her) I have been fascinated by her life and her work. I also loved her book of unabridged journals. So when I saw there was a book of her poetry I just had to buy it and read it.

Sylvia Plath's writing is just so addicting. Everything flows beautifully and I just loved so many of these poems. I had such a great time reading this book while I was out relaxing in a cabin in the woods. I still wish I was there on vacation reading this book of poetry.

These poems are just so emotional and honest. They speak to me as a woman. There is just something about Sylvia Plath's writing that I connect with at the very core of myself. I'm sure some psychiatrist would have a field day with that, but there it is. 

Overall I thought The Collected Poems of Sylvia Plath was a great book of poetry that I would recommend to all Sylvia Plath fans, even if you aren't a poetry fan.
