Mini Discussion Post- Authors I've Lost Interest In

I don't do a whole lot of discussion posts and it's been ages since I've posted one. I've been thinking about authors I've lost interest in though and wondering if other readers lose interest in certain authors over time. So I decided to do a short mini discussion post about it!

For me the main three authors I used to love, but will no longer read, are:

1. James Patterson
2. Sandra Brown
3. Danielle Steel

It's just odd to me that I used to enjoy these authors so much, James Patterson in particular, but I no longer have any interest in reading any of their books. I wonder if anyone else has had this happen and what your reasons for losing interest are. For me I feel like James Patterson just keeps churning them out and all the stories have gotten stale and very bland. For Sandra Brown and Danielle Steel, I just don't have any interest anymore. There isn't even really a reason there!

What about you all? Have you ever lost interest in an author and refused to read any more of their books? If so, which authors and why??

Or what about a particular genre? Has anyone just lost complete interest in a whole genre?

Discuss with me!! :)

Top Ten Tuesday- Top FIVE New To Me Authors I Read In 2017

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at The Broke and the Bookish. The topic this week is Top Ten New To Me Authors I Read In 2017! I didn't read very many new authors this year that I just LOVED so I made this a top five list instead.

1. Ruth Ware - I read The Woman In Cabin 10 early on in the year and I just LOVED it. I bought her other two books The Lying Game and In a Dark, Dark Wood later in the year and I read those back to back. I enjoyed both of them as well, but The Woman In Cabin 10 is definitely my favorite of the three. I can't wait for her to come out with more books. She is going to be an auto-buy author for me.

2. Sarah Pinborough - So... my bestie had been telling me for a long time that I just HAD to read Behind Her Eyes. I put it off for a while because I wasn't that intrigued to be honest. Well I wish I had read it sooner!! I think this was my favorite read of the year. I also read 13 Minutes by her and I enjoyed it as well, but the twist in Behind Her Eyes just completely blew my mind.

3. Grady Hendrix- I was absolutely enamored with My Best Friend's Exorcism. I need to try to buy and read Horrorstor by him this year! I can't wait to see what I think of that one. I hope I will like it just as much.

4. Ania Ahlborn - The Devil Crept In was SO GOOD!! I know she has a few more books and I would love to give at least one other of hers a try this year as well.

5. B.A. Paris - I was hesitant to add B.A. Paris on here to be honest. Behind Closed Doors was one of my favorite reads in 2017. However, I also read The Breakdown and it was more like The Letdown. I gave that one only two stars, but I know the next book she comes out with I would for sure give it a shot at least.

That's it for my Top FIVE New To Me Authors I Read In 2017! I am very happy that I tried these authors this year and I look forward to reading more of their books in the future.

Have you read any of these authors? If so, what did you think? Who were your top new to you authors that you read this year?

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at The Broke and the Bookish. This week's topic is Top Ten New To Me Authors I Read In 2016.

So it's been awhile since I've done a Top Ten Tuesday. I've been all over the place and very sporadic with my blog lately. I'm so sorry for that, but hopefully you all understand! :D I had to do this TTT topic though because I'm always behind on reading popular authors. I think I did pretty well this year on trying to read some of these books/authors I have been hearing about for ages! So here are my Top Ten New To Me Authors I Read In 2016!

1. Maggie Stiefvater

2. Leigh Bardugo

3. Michelle Hodkin

4. Dawn Kurtagich

5. Sylvia Day

6. Darynda Jones

7. Ann Rule

8. Ruta Sepetys

9. Mary Roach

10. Cecelia Ahern

Some of these authors I have only read one book by so far, but I can't wait to read more!! Also, next year I hope to find even more new to me authors to fall in love with. BTW- I know I'm not the best, but I'm proud of myself because my bookstagram pictures have gotten so much better. The older ones are terrible lol. I hope to keep improving in 2017! :P

What new to you authors did you read in 2016? Are there any authors you're hoping to try in 2017 that you didn't get to this year?

Top Ten Tuesday- Top Five New To Me Favorite Authors I Read For The First Time In 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at The Broke and the Bookish. The topic for this week is Top Ten New To Me Favorite Authors I Read For The First Time In 2015.

This one is going to only be a Top 5 list for me. I had many new to me authors that I read this year, but I really only wanted to chose the ones that I read more than one book from. So here they are! :D

1.) Colleen Hoover-

The first book I picked up by Colleen Hoover was Ugly Love. After hearing so much about this author I really wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I devoured Ugly Love in about 1 1/2 days and then immediately wanted to read more from this author. Colleen Hoover's books are so addictive! Total this year I read 5 of Colleen Hoover's books and I can't wait to read her others. I read Ugly Love, Maybe Someday, Slammed, Hopeless, and Confess.

2.) Marissa Meyer-

So I was slow to get on the Lunar Chronicles train, but once I read Cinder, I was hooked on the series. I just finished Winter and I have to say it was also amazing. Marissa Meyer has definitely become one of my favorite authors.

3.) Nick Cutter-

The Troop was one of the very first books that I read in 2015 and it's become one of my favorites. I already can't wait to go back and re-read it. I also loved The Deep and I am so excited to see what else Nick Cutter comes out with. I still need to go buy The Acolyte so I can read it!

4.) Laini Taylor-

I don't think I could explain well enough just how much I love The Daughter of Smoke & Bone series. Before I started it I really wasn't sure what to expect from it. I didn't really understand what it was about, but I decided to read it on a recommendation from a friend. I really feel dumb for not having read it sooner. The whole series is fabulous and the ending of the last book left me breathless and emotional. I am still truly stunned at how well done this series is and I need to read more from Laini Taylor.

5.) Rainbow Rowell-

I read Eleanor & Park and Landline by Rainbow Rowell this year and I really regret that I didn't read these sooner. I also regret that I didn't get a chance to read any more of her books this year. I love what I have read by her so far and hopefully in 2016 I will get a chance to read more of her books because she is an amazing writer.

That's it for my list! I am so happy that I found so many great new authors in 2015. I can't wait to see what awesome authors I find in 2016. What authors would be on your list?

I am reading Icons by Margaret Stohl.

What is the last book you read?

I just finished Days of Blood and Starlight last night.

Everywhere. The couch, the bed, in the bathtub, on the toilet, in the car... I mean everywhere.

Who is the last person you tweeted?

I think it was Stephen King for his birthday.

Whose blog did you look at last?

It was either The Book Goddess or My Guilty Obsession  I'm not sure.

Who is your favorite blogger?

Um...me? LOL! Just kidding. Seriously though, I don't know. I like quite a few blogs.

Who is your favorite book-tuber?

Bazpierce because he is hilarious and gives no shits what others think. Here's a link! Bazpierce

Well even though I vehemently disagree I don't usually say anything. I think sports are boring. So there ya go. We all have our own opinions. :)

My mother.

Who is your all time favorite book character?

Dorian Gray. He's fascinating to me. I love his character in Penny Dreadful too.

I'm not picky. I will say though that sometimes female authors writing from a male perspective can go very wrong and very easily.

The Harry Potter series. Even though there are a few things that drive me NUTTY, they did mostly a good job and I enjoy seeing it all come to life.
