Reached By: Ally Condie Review

Well I have to admit that I did not want to write this review. I put it off for a bit and finally I decided maybe I should just get it over with. I put it off because I didn't enjoy Reached and that made me angry since I enjoyed the first two books in the series so much.

One of the major issues I had with Reached is the super repetitive writing. This book was not too big, but a decent size, and it probably could have been cut in half. Especially during the beginning and middle of the book it just kept repeating the same things over and over. Which was annoying and also boring.

Another issue that I had is that it switches from Cassia, Ky, and Xander's POV way too often and it's choppy. I have read books where it changed POVs often and it worked, but it didn't in this case. The book did not flow well at all.

Also, I did not care for how the plot went in this one. I feel like Matched and Crossed were great, but I just did not like the whole plague thing out of nowhere in Reached. Not only did I dislike that, but I was not completely satisfied with the ending. It was very rushed at the end and seemed forced to fit together.

Overall as a whole this series is okay. I really enjoyed the first two books, but Reached was difficult to get through. Everything ended OKAY I suppose, but like I said it was rushed. It was also too predictable for me. I am left feeling extremely disappointed by this series.

I recommend Reached to anyone who enjoyed the first two in the series. Just to finish the series and see how it ends. Maybe you will like it better than I did. If you haven't started this series yet, and would like to, then I would recommend you borrow it from the library honestly.
