Top Ten Tuesday- Top Ten Songs That I Wish Were Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at The Broke and the Bookish. The topic for this week is Top Ten Songs That I Wish Were Books.

For those of you who don't know I absolutely LOVE music! I am as into music as I am books and many times both of these have been connected in my life. Ever since I was little I have loved to listen to music and read at the same time. I still do this to this day and it's probably my favorite thing to do. So when I saw this topic I got pretty excited! I picked these songs because I can see a vivid story in my mind and I would love to see these as novels.

I tried to add the songs on here from Spotify, but I could only get some to work and the others kept disappearing. I have no clue why, but I'm very annoyed! I added the links to the YouTube videos though.

1. The Freshman By: The Verve Pipe- I think this would be such a good and dramatic story to read about! The Freshman

2. Hotel California By: The Eagles- I can picture this being done as a very creepy and ghostly novel. It would be AHHHHmazing!! Hotel California

3. Baba O'Riley By: The Who- Is it just me or would this make such a kick ass angsty YA  novel? Baba O'Riley

4. Pour Some Sugar On Me By: Def Leppard- Dayuuuuuuuum this would make a hot erotica novel. Can Tom Cruise be on the cover? Pour Some Sugar On Me

5. Bohemian Rhapsody By: Queen- C'mon the story is already there! Someone seriously needs to make this a book. Right away! Bohemian Rhapsody

6. The Boys of Summer By: Don Henley- Hello awesome NA summery novel!! I see a beautiful beach picture on the cover. The Boys of Summer

7. Hey There Delilah By: Plain White T's- I love novels about music! Especially ones with a love story and this song would make a perfect musical book. Hey There Delilah

8. Bad Girls By: M.I.A.- I can totally picture this as a book about some bad bitches that are out there making money and living life to the fullest. Bad Girls

9. I Will Follow You Into The Dark By: Death Cab For Cutie- I see this song as a very suspenseful book about a creepy stalker that eventually leads to a dramatic murder/suicide. :x I Will Follow You Into The Dark

10. For Emma By: Bon Iver-  Maybe this would be more of a novella? A very interesting one though! For Emma

Honorable Mentions:

Chandelier By: Sia- I just want Sia to write an autobiography! That would be so awesome. I want to know all about her life. Chandelier

Falling Slowly By: Glen Hansard- Okay, I really just want Once the movie turned into a book! I adore that movie. Falling Slowly

Okay, that's it! What songs would you like to see as books? Do you agree with any of my choices? :)

  1. You have such good ideas. I really like Hotel California and The Freshmen - both would be great books. I love music but had difficulty with (and not a lot of time to spend on) this week's theme. Great list!

  8. This is a really creative TTT! I've only heard a handful of these songs so I can't comment on too many of them, but the themes sound great! Death cab for Cutie sounds like a great emo/contemporary romance!

  9. I love the idea of using lyrics- I wish i would have done that. :) Great post- I agree with so many of these. Baba O' Riley- THAT would be an awesome book, seems like. And there are so many Queen songs that would rock as a book.

Pour Some Sugar on Me I think I heard a few times before I ACTUALLY listened to the lyrics, and I was like okay then! LOL so yeah. And Don Henley/ Eagles- those could be some cool stories... :)
