Paradox Love By: Dorothy Gravelle Review

I received Paradox Love from the Goodreads giveaways and I am so thrilled to have won! I've been eyeing this book on Goodreads since about March of this year. Paradox Love is about Grace and Luke who are seventeen and in love. However, very early on in the novel Grace dies and the rest of the story is her trying to get back to Luke.

If  you've read the blurb about Paradox Love on Goodreads then you may be wondering where does the group of remarkable dogs come in? After Grace dies her soul gets put into a dog because she wants to go back and find a way to Luke. Which due to circumstances she ends up as multiple dogs throughout the novel. I loved the dog parts so much and in my opinion this was the best thing about the book. As a dog owner and lover I really enjoyed it. Although, there were a few sad parts that almost had me reaching for some Kleenex.

As the book continues on you find out there is more to Grace's journey then getting back to Luke. An entire world's fate will be determined by Grace's decisions. Okay, to be honest this is where the book lost me somewhat ( and went from 5 stars to 4 stars) because some of the explanations about the world were confusing. There was a section about midway to three quarters into the book where I lost interest a little bit. Once I was able to catch on and I wasn't as confused then the book picked up again.

The ending does not have a cliff hanger, but it does leave it open for a second novel. I'm not sure if I would read it or not, even though I enjoyed Paradox Love quite a bit. I would have to wait and see what the summary for a sequel would say. I really would be interested in a novel by Dorothy Gravelle that is even more focused on dogs, or animals in general. That was the strongest aspect of the book for me.

Paradox Love is a lot more than I was expecting it to be. I don't think I've read any other novel quite like this one. There is a lot of elements thrown together in the book, but somehow they all blend well. I recommend Paradox Love for dog lovers, fans of unique worlds, and anyone interested in reincarnation.

At the beginning of the book there is a page that says, "Somewhere out there is a shelter dog waiting to save you." So just for fun here is a few pictures of my two dogs that I got from the shelter. These girls are both wonderful dogs. They are incredibly sweet and loving. Jasmine is the black one and Ariel is the brown one.
