Stranger Things Book Tag

I saw this tag a while back over at Pretty Deadly Reviews and it was created by Sarah Sunbeemz on YouTube. I've seen this tag all around the blogosphere since then and I finally had to do it!

1. Epic Intro. The opening sequence of Stranger Things is amazing and really grabs your attention. Name a book that grabbed your attention from the first page.

The Leaving is so addicting and it had me from the get go. Honestly it had me from the summary. I really wanted to know where the kids had been for eleven years.

2. Dungeons & Dragons. Name a fantasy world you would like to experience for yourself.

Cliche? Don't care. I pick the wizarding world in Harry Potter!

3. Squad Goals. When Eleven met Mike, Dustin, and Lucas it was a "mostly" perfect team. Name your favorite bookish group of friends.

I love not only Blue and her Raven boys squad, but I also love the lady squad at 300 Fox Way.

4. ABC's and Christmas Lights. Joyce Byers goes mad with grief after Will goes missing. Name your favorite mentally unhinged character.

It was a toss up between Annie Wilkes and Joe from You. I had to go with Annie though.

5. The Upside Down. Name a book that was the opposite of what you expected.

To be honest I never had any interest in any of CoHo's books. I kept seeing them around and I thought I would hate them, but I fell in love with them. Ugly Love was the first one I read.

6. Mad Scientists. Dr. Breener likes to get freaky with humanity. Name the freakiest dystopian government that you can think of.

The thing with the twins?! That freaked me out as a kid and it still freaks me out. Probably even more now since I have twins of my own.

7. Demogorgon. Name a scary bookish creature that you would not want to come through your walls.

Um, any of Lovecraft's creatures. LOL! Cthulhu loves you...with ketchup.

8. Cliffhanger Ending. Name a book that left you wanting more.

I NEED MORE ANSWERS!! I still need to read the next two books because I'm dying. :P

That's it for the Stranger Things Book Tag! I tag everyone that loves books and the Stranger Things show. :D

Playlist Book Tag

I haven't done a tag in AGES! I'm so excited to be doing this tag. I've wanted to do it ever since I saw it over at The Left-Handed Book Lover! I love books AND music so this is perfect. The tag was originally started by Little Red Reader on YouTube.

How to play: Put your music on shuffle and pick a book for each song that comes on. I'm assuming you can pick as many songs as you want, but I just did five.

*Click on covers to view on Goodreads.*

1. Californication By: Red Hot Chili Peppers

Lyrics:

Space may be the final frontier
But it's made in a Hollywood basement
Cobain can you hear the spheres
Singing songs off station to station
And Alderaan's not far away
It's Californication

Even though I haven't read this book yet, the "Cobain" part in the song made me think of this one.

2. Landslide By: Fleetwood Mac

Lyrics:

I took my love, took it down
I climbed a mountain and I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills
'Till the landslide brought me down

This song makes me think of life changes and growing older which instantly made me think of grumpy, old Ove.

3. Forever Young By Alphaville

Lyrics:

Forever young,
I want to be forever young.
Do you really want to live forever?
Forever, and ever

Lestat wants to live forever, but what about Louis?? This one couldn't go together any more perfectly in my opinion!

4. I'll Make Love To You By: Boyz To Men

Lyrics:

I'll make love to you
Like you want me to
And I'll hold you tight
Baby all through the night
I'll make love to you
When you want me to
And I will not let go
Till you tell me to

I always crack up at how the men in this book can go all night (if you get my drift, and I think you do) and I don't care if they are vampires. It still doesn't make sense to me and it's funny, even though I LOVE the series. So a song all about making love and making love all night made me think of this one.

5. Chandelier By: Sia

Lyrics:

1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink
1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3 drink

Throw 'em back, till I lose count

Here's looking at you, Jack. My favorite fictional alcoholic.

So that's it for the Playlist Book Tag! What do you think of the books I picked for the songs? Would you choose other books instead, if so which ones?! Also, as always I tag anyone who wants to do the tag. Also, I don't know why this is in a white box, but I can't figure out how to fix it. So OH WELL. Gah.

Totally Should've Book Tag

I was tagged by Carrie over at The Book Goddess. Thanks for the tag and I can't wait to do this one! I just love tags.

1. Totally Should've Gotten A Sequel

Everything, Everything. I want to know more about Olly. This book came out not long ago, so maybe there's hope?

2. Totally Should've Had A Spin-off Series

The Daughter of Smoke & Bone Series. I would love a spin-off series for this one. Not for any character specifically, but anything set in that world would be FANTASTIC.

3. An Author Who Totally Should Write More Books

Joe Hill. I hope he has a long career just like his daddy!

4. A Character Who Totally Should've Ended Up With Someone Else

Sookie Stackhouse. While I haven't read the last two books to find out myself, I was told that she didn't end up with who I wanted. Boooooo.

5. Totally Should've Ended Differently

Twilight Series, The Hunger Games, oh and The Divergent Series. I was not thrilled with how any of these ended. Although I have a different reason on the Divergent series than most people.

6. Totally Should've Had A Movie Franchise

The Infernal Devices Series! Gosh I would love to see these books as movies!!!

7. Totally Should've Had A TV Show

The Raven Cycle Series!! That would be a killer show.

8. Totally Should've Had Only One POV

Allegiant. I did not need Four's whiny ass POV. Why was he so whiny in the last book?? Ugh, that killed the character for me for sure.

9. Totally Should Have A Cover Change

A Torch Against the Night. Sorry, I don't like the cover. :x

10. Totally Should've Kept The Original Covers

Daughter of Deep Silence. The blue weird paperback edition is horrid.

11. Totally Should've Stopped At Book One

You and Me Before You. I have zero desire to read the sequels.

That's it for the Totally Should've Book Tag! As always I tag anyone that wants to do it. I have a hard time keeping up with who does tags and who doesn't. If you see this and want to do it then consider yourself tagged!! Feel free to drop me a link if you do it so I can check out your answers. :D

The Halsey Book Tag

I saw this tag here at Nick & Nereyda's Infinite Booklist and I love Halsey so I just had to do this one! The tag was created here at Paper Riot.  I just love Halsey's music and I was so thrilled to see this tag. I tag anyone that would like to do it.

Castle- Your Favorite Queen

I picked Queen Levana for this one, even though she is a villain. I chose her because her character is very well done and intriguing.

Hold Me Down- A Series You Just Can't Seem To Quit

Luckily I have finally stopped reading this series, but it took me ages to finally give up on it. I just loved this series so much for the first ten or so books. It used to be one of my favorite series and so it was so sad when it became too much about sex and Anita's character just wasn't the same anymore.

New Americana- The Fictional Friend Group You'd Want To Be Your Fight The Apocalypse Squad

Hey if Ali, Cole, Frosty, and the rest of the gang can kick zombie butt then certainly they would be handy in the Apocalypse!

Drive- A Couple That Needs To Communicate Better

I swear Mac and Barrons communication skills are non-existent.

Hurricane- Favorite Standalone

Technically The Picture of Dorian Gray is my favorite book and since there is no sequel it would be my favorite standalone. However. just to switch things up I picked my 2nd favorite standalone!

Roman Holiday- Cutest Contemporary Couple

Noah and Allie of course!!

Ghost- Most Tragic Break Up

While I am 100% team Wessa, I was still sad about Tessa & Jem. Although if you've read the books you know how cool that triangle turns out!

Strange Love- Character A Lot Of People Don't Get But You Love

I can't think of one!

Coming Down- Best Sexy Times Scene

I can't remember what book it was, but there was a scene in one book where both people were magic users. They both used their magic during sexy time and it was hot, hot, hot. I can't recall the book though. :(

Haunting- A Book Or Character You're Still Thinking About

Oh yeah, still thinking about this one.

Gasoline- Favorite Self Destructive Character

Well this made the list anyway. Haha. Dorian Gray is the epitome of self destructive and my favorite literary character so I just had to pick him.

Control- Best Villain

Dolores Umbridge. Yes, even over Voldemort.

Young God- Characters That Secretly Worship Each Other

Not sure if it really count as a secret, but Katy and Daemon.

Walk The Line- Best Retelling/Reworking

Does mythology retelling count? If so then definitely The Percy Jackson Series!

Is There Somewhere- OTP With Obstacles

Blue and Gansey.

Empty Gold- An OTP That Became a NOTP

Cassia and Ky. Or Cassia and Xander. By the end I didn't even care anymore.

Trouble-  Toxic Relationship You Ship Even Though You Know Better

Alina and The Darkling. I'm sorry, I ship it!! I ship it even more than Alina and boring Mal.

So that's it for The Halsey Book Tag! If you haven't heard Halsey's music yet then I definitely recommend you give her a listen. :D What books would you pick for these?

Burn, Rewrite, Reread Tag

I saw this tag over at Book Coma Blog and I just had to do it because it looked so fun! You guys know I can't resist a good tag now and then. This one was really fun to do and I tag anyone who wants to do it!

The Rules:

1.) Randomly chose three books. You can use the random option on your Goodreads shelf. I just used whatever books were the top three.
2.) For each group pick one to burn, rewrite, and reread.
3.) Repeat for three or five rounds.

Round 1:

The Wedding By: Nicholas Sparks
The One By: Kiera Cass
Iced By: Karen Marie Moning
 - Iced. Definitely. I was not happy with that book or the turn this series took at all.
 - The Wedding. I remember liking this one, but I don't remember it! I would like to just rewrite the whole book and decide what I want to happen after The Notebook.
 - The One. I would love to reread that whole series again!

Round 2:

The Witching Hour By: Anne Rice
A Game of Thrones By: George R.R. Martin
The Maze Runner By: James Dashner
 - The Maze Runner. Even though I liked it, the rest of the series went downhill. I wish I had never read this series because it held such promise and ended up a dud.
 - The Witching Hour. I enjoyed this book... at first. I liked some of it, but it was one of those that I expected to be way better than it was. I would love to take what Anne did and just change it up some.
 - A Game of Thrones. Well I will need to reread the whole series by the time the next book comes out. Since someone writes so slow...

Round 3:

The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath By: Sylvia Plath
The Darkest Night (Lords of the Underworld #1) By: Gena Showalter
Dragonfly in Amber By: Diana Gabaldon
 - Dragonfly in Amber. I don't really want to burn this one, it was okay, but I had to pick one!
 - The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath. I actually don't want to rewrite this one either. I had to pick one though. I will say I wish Plath had lived longer to continue with her writing. I do wish there was even more.
 - The Darkest Night. I do need to reread this!  I still haven't finished this series and I will probably have to reread all the ones I have before I do continue. I think I read some out of order the first time around and so I want to read it in order too!

So those are my picks to burn, rewrite, and reread. Do you agree with any of my choices? Strongly DISAGREE with some of my choices?

Thanks for reading and if you do the tag let me know so I can go check it out!
