Do you like slow burn and atmospheric mystery/thrillers? Than The Retreat is for you! This may not be the fastest paced book, but it's very intriguing and well written. I liked the MC, Lucas, and how he wanted to help Julia find or find out what happened to her missing child. Oh, and I desperately wanted to know what happened to Lily. That kept pushing me to read on because I HAD to know. I also enjoyed the town myth about The Red Widow. That really added to the atmosphere for me and I'm always a sucker for good atmosphere. Overall The Retreat is a fantastic read, but the ENDING really got me! It was completely unexpected and chilling. I highly recommend The Retreat!
