Top Ten Tuesday- FREEBIE! Top Ten Gothic Novels I Need To Read


Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at The Broke and the Bookish. The topic for this week is a freebie so I chose top ten Gothic novels I need to read.

I chose this topic because I LOVE Gothic novels, but here lately I have been thinking about the genre and wondering if there are any left that I haven't read. There is and more than ten of them! So here are my top ten Gothic novels I need to read.

  1. I can't say I've ever read a Gothic novel. I'm not even sure if I'm a fan. I do like books with vampires so there's that. Something to think about. I did always want to read Frankenstein is that even a gothic novel?!

  3. The Phantom of the Opera is great! i read it though because I saw the movie first and loved it! Hope you get around to it soon! happy reading!

  8. I don't think I've ever read a gothic novel but some of those covers are so evocative! They really have atmosphere- which I guess would be a key component of a gothic? Great list!

  14. Great topic! The Castle of Otranto, The Monk, and The Vampyre are all great! I would also recommend The Beetle by Richard Marsh, if you haven't already read it that is. :)

  15. What a great list! I can't say that I've read any gothic novels but I've wanted to for a long time and since I already love Phantom of the Opera musical it might just be the place to start :D happy reading

  17. I think gothic books are so interesting. I have not read any of these, though! Do you like vampires? If so, you really would enjoy The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa. Even if you don't like vampires, I suggest you look it up and see if the blurb is interesting. :-)
