Top Ten Tuesday- Top Ten YA Novels I Read In 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/meme hosted here at The Broke and the Bookish.  The topic for this week I chose is Top Ten YA Novels I Read in 2015.

I was looking back at all of the books I read this year and I realized that I have read so many that are YA! I love lots of genres, but it does seem that YA has dominated my 2015. There is something amazing to me about the YA genre and that is the fact that YA is such a broad genre. Within the YA genre you have fantasy, horror, contemporary, and etc. I have seen lots of hate for the YA genre and adults who think they are "too old" to read young adult books. I have to say that I get annoyed by that. I am an adult who is proud to read YA and the only major difference to me between Young Adult and Adult books is that YA has younger main characters. There are so many fabulous YA novels and here are my favorite ones that I read in 2015.

1.) Clockwork Angel By: Cassandra Clare

I read the whole series this year and I loved every single one of them! Each one was better than the next and I enjoyed it even more than The Mortal Instruments Series. Which I didn't even think was possible.

2.) Daughter of Smoke & Bone By: Laini Taylor

I read all of this series this year as well and it was also amazing. This one almost was my #1 on this list, but I could only pick one. It was a hard choice!

3.) A Court of Thorns and Roses By: Sarah J. Maas

ACOTAR is an awesome start for Sarah J. Maas's new series. I can't wait to see what will happen next. I need book 2!

4.) Cinder By: Marissa Meyer

The Lunar Chronicles is another series that I read all of this year and that I loved. I just finished Winter not long ago and I'm very pleased with the ending. I heard there will be a novella to show more of what happens after Winter ends so I'm looking forward to that one.

5.) The Assassin's Blade By: Sarah J. Maas

I just love Sarah J. Maas's books (so far) and I loved this one in the Throne of Glass series. I still haven't read Queen of Shadows, but eventually I must.

6.) The Madman's Daughter By: Megan Shepherd

Here is yet another series I read all of this year (it's been a good year for reading series!) and all of these books are great. I love the mix of the old Gothic horror novels in this series. I wasn't sure how it would all work, but everything in the series blended together beautifully.

7.) The Selection By: Kiera Cass

I read the first four of this series also this year and I have to say I think of this as a bit of a guilty pleasure. It's one of those series for me that I love, but it's silly and I could really pick it all apart if I let myself. So I won't.

8.) The Dolls By: Kiki Sullivan

I read The Dolls in less than a day. It was that good. I really enjoyed the Mean Girls/ Voodoo-esque vibe in this book. I still need to read the second one though!

9.) Everything, Everything By: Nicola Yoon

Here is another book that I read in a day. Everything, Everything about it was great (LOL!), except the predictable ending, but it's still worth a read. It's very well done.

10.) Eleanor & Park By: Rainbow Rowell

Eleanor & Park was my first Rainbow Rowell read and I just loved it! I read Landline as well, but this one was the better one for me. I love the time period, the characters, and everything else about it.

Honorable Mention-

Thirteen Reasons Why By: Jay Asher

I don't know if I would say I liked this one a lot, but it was very good. It was powerful and thought provoking and it deserves a spot on this list, even if it's not in the top ten.

So that is my Top Ten YA Novels I Read In 2015. I didn't realize until writing this just how many full series I read this year. I'm happily surprised about that. For those series on this list I am including the whole series, not just the first book.

What are some of the best YA novels that you read in 2015?

And don't feel bad about The Selection series. We all have our guilty pleasures. My best friend read that series this year and became obsessed with it. She's been begging me to read it for a while lol. I might just have to!
