National Book Lovers Day! / Mini Book Haul!

Yesterday was National Book Lovers Day. I hope everyone got to enjoy it and got some reading done. I know I did! I was very lucky and I got to sleep in till NOON. I've been having some pain so my wonderful husband got up with the kids and let me sleep in. AWWWW.

I didn't know till Saturday night that Sunday was National Book Lovers day, but I had to read and drink coffee to celebrate! So I decided to go to Starbucks and use my free birthday drink coupon. Woo hoo free starbucks!! By the way, if you haven't tried the new mocha coconut frappucino yet it is really good. Yum! After all that, I was finally ready to READ.

I read the Storm Front Volumes 1 &2  graphic novels by Jim Butcher. I love this book series and when I found out there were graphic novels I had to see what they were like. I borrowed these from the library a while ago, so it was a good time to finally read them. So now I can return them! I thought they were both very good. I enjoyed the artwork quite a bit. I am glad that I read the novels first though.

I also read some on my IRL YA book club pick, Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and her daughter Samantha Van Leer. I'm still not done with it, but it's good so far. I like the interactions between Oliver and Delilah more than anything else in the book. I have to admit I'm not enjoying the parts as much where it's telling the actual fairy tale. Well I can't wait to finish it and see what I think at the end.

So that's what I read yesterday for National Book Lovers Day! I hope everyone else got a chance to get some reading in too. Or maybe some book shopping. If there is anything I like just as much as reading, it's book shopping for sure! Just recently I went book shopping (YEY Barnes & Noble gift cards!) and here's my mini book haul!

I started The Three by Sarah Lotz, but I'm not very far in to it yet. I think I will read Splintered after that. I can't wait to read that one. JUST LOOK AT THE COVER !

It's gorgeous. I hope the story is as good as the cover is pretty! I know I'm not supposed to judge a book by it's cover, but I've heard some pretty good things about it too.

So what did you read this weekend to celebrate National Book Lovers Day? If you went shopping, what did you get in your book haul? Let me know in the comments!! :)
